Can Inertial Movement Sensors (IMUs) provide a valid and reliable way of measuring Spinal Mobility in Axial Spondyloarthritis (axSpa): a Clinimetric Evaluation

Objectives of the Project

To date have completed two validation studies – a reliability study and a criterion validity study comparing sensor accuracy to the UCOTrack© gait lab system. In the next phase we will measure the responsiveness of our instrumented metrology index. We will also develop a smartphone app to allow patients to obtain feedback from sensor tests on their spinal mobility.

Patient Voice

Patient groups in Spain and the UK were consulted in the design of this project and their point of view will be taken into account throughout the project. Mobility limitations are a key factor for AS patients.
